Apprenticeship Application Form
2026 Fall Quarter (Sept 21 - Dec 21)

Our apprenticeships run quarterly within each celestial cycle (equinox-solstice, solstice-equinox). There will be an opportunity at the end of each quarter to extend your apprenticeship into the next quarter, if you desire.

We are seeking Apprentices for multiple positions, so please let us know which position you are interested in:

Garden Apprentice (5 open positions) – This position is for those interested in physical hands-on work in the garden. Opportunities include planting, weeding, watering, harvesting crops, harvesting seeds, etc. In the fall quarter, we are generally focused on seed harvesting, seed cleaning/processing, germination testing, and seed inventory. We spend some time in October/early November in the garden, working to winterize and mulch and plant some overwintering crops. In November/December we will focus our work indoors, spending intimate time with the seeds as we unveil them from their husks and test their viability. This is a great position for someone who already has a bit of garden experience and is looking to take it to the next level. You must be able to do the physical work in the garden (bending, kneeling, weeding, shoveling, wheelbarrowing loads of dirt, etc). Perks include free produce, seeds, and flowers out of the garden, and personal healing and growth through intimate connection with the land. The work will take place at Rhythm Seed Farm (6841 NE Prescott St), our partner location (the Deep Mulch Dry Farm) at 4606 NE 55th Ave (just a few minutes west of Rhythm Seed), our Seedhouse in the Rocky Butte Neighborhood, and our shared office space at 1421 SE Division St. You must have reliable transportation or be able to get yourself to our work sites every week. You are expected to work 10 hours/week on average, with semi-flexible timing although we are moving towards having more set hours for consistency. Positions available: 5

Media and Communications Apprentice (2 open positions) - This position is for those who enjoy crafting social media content, networking, and connecting with organizations and individuals that align with our mission. You must be familiar with Instagram, Facebook, and other social media sites and ideally know how to use Canva and other editing tools to produce high quality and captivating content. Bonus points if you have a background in photography or videography, although we have lots of content already captured that just needs to be edited and posted. You will help to solicit donations and partnerships with local businesses, and help to coordinate events and educational sessions at the farm and elsewhere. Ideal applicants have an outgoing personality, a strong sense of community, and a passion for our mission. It would be amazing if you are familiar with grant writing and/or fundraising, but we know this is hard to find. Perks include free produce, seeds, and flowers out of the garden, and the joy of spreading seeds to communities who are in need. You are expected to work 10 hours/week on average, with flexible timing. Positions available: 2
